Why do we like this?

Here's something a little left of center for your Friday afternoon. "Some Things" is an amalgamation of three songs from Swedish artist Bishat. While no samples are present, Bishat uses a combination of The Weeknd’s "Often," singer/songwriter Daniel Johnston’s "Some Things Last A Long Time," and fellow Swede Lykke Li’s "No Rest For The Wicked" to create something of a modern day mash-up.

Bishat was inspired to create the tune after watching the documentary, The Devil And Daniel Johnston, but instead of performing a straight-up cover of a Johnston song, she decided to play around with "Some Things Last A Long Time" and include two of her favorite songs into the composition, "No Rest For The Wicked" and "Often."

It's a unique and pleasing mash-up that's both familiar and original and allows a glimpse at the talented Bishat's soulful vocals.
