It's so hard to pull off a good jazzy beat these days. Or maybe...

Maybe it was *too* easy to pull off a jazzy beat. And now the internet finds itself flooded with an abundance of half-baked attempts.

Fortunately we've got folks like Birds Of The West to show us all how it *should* be done. "Winter's Day" is a beautiful moosh of jazzy beats and neo-classical (courtesy of Dario Lessing). Overall I think this stands as one of the best examples of what this genre can achieve.
