Why do we like this?

The Strandbeest

"Birch" is a soft and subtle construction of flowing vocals, wooded sounds and movements of grace and efficiency.

I'm not sure if anyone has ever seen a Strandbeest - a mechanical design by a Dutch artist by the name of Theo Jansen. If you do, you'll get an immediate idea of the exact feel this song creates. It's a big machine, but a gentle creature. A lot is making this machine tik - flowing vocals, a melancholic flow of instrumentation - and yet it only needs a little push to make an impact.
