Adrian Younge is all systems go on his new label, Linear Labs. After previewing what he's culled from the past on projects like Ghostface's12 Reasons To Die as well as his own Black Dynamite and Venice Dawn projects, Younge has been fine-tuning his LP with West Coast 90s legends Souls of Mischief.
That hasn't even dropped, and he's already announcing a full-length project with Bilal, future soul singer extraordinaire. In my opinion, the latter project shows the most promise.
The first leak, "Sirens II," finds Ali Shaheed Muhammad reclaiming the killer loop Timbaland and Jay-Z threw in the microwave for "Picasso Baby" and creating something more potent. This isn't the happy-go-lucky Bilal, it's a cerebral mad scientist singing over something Wu Tang would have rapped to twenty years ago.
