Why do we like this?
Benjamin Verdoes is an artist I have written about a number of times now, and for good reason.
A wonderfully authentic musician, Verdoes is one who keeps his heart on his sleeve, thus creating a real bond with his listeners.
"Highly Emotional" is the first track from his The One And The Other EP, which, when listened to closely, forms a chronological narrative over the span of six songs.
With an obvious focus on strong hooks and melodies, Verdoes' sound marries narrative style-songwriting, beatmaking and production with layered vocals, fragile falsettos and a subtle murkiness.
