Let me just say this: it hurts to listen to Benjamin Clementine. His voice is powerful, his lyrics are raw, and his delivery is downright unique. Pair that all against the passive aggressive piano and you've got quite a heart fuck.
At 24 years old, Benjamin will surprise you. His story of moving from Edmonton (one of the most crime-ridden areas of London) to busking a capella in Metro at Place du Clichy in Paris and living from hostel to hostel is, well, unusual. Then there's his up-close-and-personal gigs, acquiring cult status rapidly. What'd I say? Benjamin's special. A different kind of artist.
Benjamin recently made his television debut on BBC 2's Later"¦ with Jools Holland on October 22 and now will perform headline shows across London. If you're in town, I wouldn't miss it.
