Three hearts combine into a spiral of floral ambience, nightlife fog, and a hint of spark with "Flickers."
Ben Laxton met up with Hemai.... and then met up with NSHKO, and these three painters all brushed onto the same canvas—it's a masterwork, a masterpiece of lo-fi jazz, slow bumpy night energy, and a caring vocal hug. It's a song reminiscent of walking at night just as the clubs close and the cars stop moving. It's quiet, it's beautiful, and it's still a joy to be out on the town.
"Flickers" is a hummingbird in slow motion—so many mechanics making such a beautiful thing fly.
