Why do we like this?
Ben Khan returns after the notorious "Drive (Part 1)," released back in July of this year. Although we all expected "Drive Part 2," I'd say I'm pretty content with "Eden," which went live just last week.
Giving a glimpse into the future stylistic path for Khan, "Eden" diverges from "Drive (Part 1)" by diving into darker, more melodic waters. The vocals still evoke a sense of sexuality and desire, while the prominent distortion contrasts the electronically charged guitar. "Eden" is three minutes of genuine reiteration of Khan's inspirations, which trail anywhere from Prince's sensual funk to Yeezus' production style.
The young London-based mastermind seems to have a few tricks up his sleeve, creating yet another enticing single that chisels away at established genre barriers.
