Why do we like this?
Bemos is the solo project of producer Billy Lemos and his debut track featuring Omar Apollo & Maxwell Young is an enjoyable downtempo take at lo-fi soul-house. The track, (which only just cracks two minutes) is a lovely taste of Bemos production chops and is perfectly matched with Apollo and Young’s crooning. This hazy, late night jazz vibe coupled with a booming kick and heavy sidechain made me think of Kaytranda remixing a Marvin Belton song - it’s classy, catchy and leaves you wanting more.
We can expect a debut album from Bemos in late 2017 with a whole lot of featuring artists. For now you can hear more and follow him here.
