Why do we like this?

Beck Pete's new single "Vertigo" drew me in for the first 90 seconds, then dumped a bucket of water over my head during the chorus. The ebb and flow of emotions -- from brooding to exuberant -- come together to form a moving and memorable piece of music.

Maybe you'll end up feeling the same way? That's my hope, at least.
