Why do we like this?

I know this one's super silly, but I don't think I'd ever sat down and actually listened to the words of wisdom laid out in "Wear Sunscreen" before listening to this song.

The original recording was released roughly 15 years ago (in 1999, for the math-challenged), an audio recording of an essay published by Mary Schmich in June 1997. Clearly it was meant as a commencement speech -- but no doubt stands for those well beyond high school.

Props to Mau Kilauea for doing something interesting with the track!
