Why do we like this?
One of the most emotive bands Australia currently has to offer, Sydney-based Battleships have caught a lot of people's attention over the last 18 months. Their debut release, the mini-LP To You, saw the four-piece play alongside some of Australia's most prominent acts, and the guys have just kicked off a huge National Tour in support of folk favorites Boy and Bear.
Fresh off the press, and out just in time for the tour, is their new single "Take Your Rest." Like previous singles like "Your Words" and "In Retrospect," we've been treated to another gorgeous indie rock single from the guys, which again focuses on lead singer Jordan Sturdee's haunting vocals. Battleships' main talent is in the way they build their music, resulting in some seriously stunning crescendos. This brilliance is once again on full display on their latest offering.
Despite the name of the single, there's no slowing down for Battleships. They'll be setting off on a tour of their own before the end of the year in support of this latest release.
