I'm not sure how, but we managed to miss Bats For Lashes' comeback single, "I Do," from a few weeks back. Well I'm glad to say we are on the ball for Natasha Khan's second spectacular release, "In God's House."
Khan's dazzling vocals float over the dark electronic production of "In God's House." The track is taken from The Bride, a concept album written as the soundtrack to a film of the same name, about a woman whose fiancé is killed in a car crash on the way to the church to be married. The woman then flees the scene and embarks on the honeymoon alone, using the trip to grieve and hopefully come through with a balanced view. Heavy.
Despite the themes, both tracks are excellent and The Bride looks like being Bats For Lashes' most involving work yet.
The Bride is set for release July 1.
