Why do we like this?

I first heard this song roughly 12 days ago, when a publicist sent me a *really* early listening. At the time, I wanted to jump on it instantly -- but, alas, I was asked to hold back until its official release on August 4th.

Fortunately, the band delayed so long on their premiere of the track that I'd totally forgotten about that advance listen. Which meant that when I heard it again, I remembered exactly why I had wanted to share it on first listen.

"Shudder" blends elements on post-chillwave with a darker R&B sound, all accompanied by a fast-paced underlying rhythm. The net result is that the Nashville-based BASECAMP give Sampha+SBTRKT a serious run for their money.
