The opening seconds of 2015's "Glitter and Gold" were more than enough indication that the already dynamic blues/folk rock landscape had a fresh new force on its hands. In February 2017, the track found a home on an EP entitled The Dull Drums, which showcases Courtney's veritable Swiss Army Knife skillset by way of contrasting, yet harmonious, elements such as the gritty, distorted stomp of "Hands," and the acoustic flirtation that is "Little Boy."
"Golden Dandelions," along with the more recent "Never Let You Down," are two tastes of Barns Courtney's first full-length album, The Attractions of Youth, which is due for release on the 29th of September. If the samplings up until now are anything to go by, the young Brit's explosive vocals and masterful handling of strings will deliver an above-par, polished album that'll be an essential in any alt/blues/folk rock listener's repertoire.
