Heard this the other day while listening to a college radio station. Shoutout KXLU. The doom-like production hypnotized me from the start, and then the French vocals drew me in deeper.
"Maux" is a heavy-handed stoner anthem, and even a bit sinister. I'm not really sure I've heard French rock music like this, which is what really makes it so unexpected. After doing a bit of digging, I learned Bandit Bandit is comprised Maëva Nicolas and Hugo Herleman, who met each other on Tinder. They also have a pretty cool cover of Serge Gainsbourg's "Bonnie and Clyde."
