Why do we like this?
"I can't trust anyone / I can't seem to fall in love" sings BAILE in this haunting rework of their own track. Lyrically, "Storm" brings visuals to life that take heartbreak and turn it from the raw blood and bone it can be, into the translucent ghost town it eventually becomes. The song goes on: "In the dark the only thing I can see is / Your hand dragging me through the city / I live in your tired heart"
With a driving four-on-the-floor beat, the song lifts and lowers the listener with some impactful synth work that swirls and dances with the vocals.
Talking about the creative process, BAILE puts it:
“When I’m listening to music I find myself more drawn to individual sounds and textures within a song rather than the songs as a whole. During the writing process, I focus on juxtaposing raw elements with synthetic ones, creating something that can feel crisp and clean but also organic and natural.”
