We've all got our guilty pleasures, right? Well, a cheekily-good pop song is mine, and Baby Queen has got me feasting. What's more, as a fan of dark comedy, I'm loving these dark lyrics sung over upbeat pop instrumentals.
This song captures a very raw and painful time, that I can definitely relate to, giving meaning to the artist's recently shared sentiment:
"I want to make music that people can connect to so much that they feel like they don't have to change"
Following "Internet Religion", her debut single, new release "Buzzkill" comes with the famed reputation of being the song the artist herself is struggling to out-write. So if you like what you hear, then you might like her latest Tweet that reads:
"Can’t believe this morning I said I’ll never out-write Buzzkill and then I went into the studio out-wrote Buzzkill"
And now, I leave this review on a very serious note: Baby Queen, if you see this, just know that you're going to have to fight me for Jodie Comer.
