Why do we like this?
While there are a few female duos floating around in Australia at the moment (Alpine, Second Hand Heart, Little Scout), I could only think of one with three -- Brisbane trio Avaberée. After their debut single, "Love of Mine," was warmly received locally, the three friends have a brand new track to share. "Running Out" is bound to solidify their status as an exciting new talent to keep your eye on.
Rather than hiding their voices behind a band, Avaberée bring their vocals to front and center -- while they're not quite an a capella group, they're not far off. A little 80s-styled synth is all they need to support their lush, adventurous vocal arrangements on "Running Out." The girls each have distinct voices, but the way they mesh together -- as if there's only one person singing -- before quickly splitting off to create their signature harmonies is something to behold.
With an EP currently in the works, get ready for much more incredible music from these three talented young ladies.
