Why do we like this?
Emerging from the embers of their previous band names, Pela and We Are Augustines, Billy McCarthy and Co. have finally settled upon the name of their band, simply going for Augustines. Although their name has been in a state of flux, their raw, anthemic indie rock has never lost any of its brute power and smoldering flair.
The follow-up to "Cruel City," new single "Nothing To Lose But Your Head" is an engaging, driving number. It's punchy delivery and spirited heart makes for a gloriously rich listening experience. Written with a stark, transparent honesty, "Nothing To Lose But Your Head" unveils the band's realization that there is no right time for anything; the time should always be now, and as the title suggests, all you have to lose is your head.
Dramatic, emotional and raw, Augustines' self-titled second album is set for release in early February 2014.
