Why do we like this?

Pegged as a potential break out act late last year on Indie Shuffle, the boys from Sydney-based duo Atlas Bound are giving us even more reasons to believe it with their first 2015 release called “Tell Me."

Atlas Bound talk themselves up as soul electronica. It's hard to argue otherwise based on this track alone. “Tell Me” is perhaps their best track to date for its smooth vocals, deep slow bass lines and superb crescendos of sound. And don't dare miss the piano solo in the middle of this track - it is understated and wonderfully enticing. Perhaps with Valentine’s Day around the corner, salacious jam like this might even woo someone special.

Comparisons with Chet Faker are inevitable given the soul tag and vocal-heavy nature of Atlas Bound’s sound. It’s a fair parallel to make, but with enough good releases like this, Atlas Bound have the potential to become a yardstick themselves.

"Tell Me" is being released today by Next Wave Records. You can grab it as a freebie download via the Atlas Bound SoundCloud page.
