Why do we like this?
I still don't really know how to describe this music, but one thing's certain: it keeps you moving. I was put onto Astronomar by new friends GTA ("Booty Bounce") and after a few listens, I can see what's so exciting about this new producer. Already getting support from Diplo and Crookers, this Seattle-based producer is rising at an astronomical rate (pun intended).
Taking this classic house track by Cajmere, Astronomar gives it a full body makeover, and that's an understatement. In an overly saturated electronic music market, this rework is a breath of fresh air. There's something dangerous about this track. It follows the chopped-up vocal patterns and urgency of jersey club, but has its own flare. I still can't put my finger on it, but as long as it's good, who cares right?
