Why do we like this?
You've heard "Mystery Colors" and "You Can Yell" by UC Berkeley student Anthony Ferraro, who crafts Bon Iver-inspired tunes under the moniker Astronauts, etc. Well, rejoice because he officially released his debut EP yesterday, and I'm here to tell you that it is wonderful.
The alluring atmosphere of each track on Supermelodic Pulp gives the release a much longer, heavier vibe than one would expect in under 20 minutes of music. I'm such a fan of Ferraro's falsetto, whether it's paired with smoother drum and bass work or his spacious keyboard melodies. I've chosen to feature "Labyrinth" because it successfully balances the softer and heavier elements of what makes Astronauts, etc. so appealing.
Fans can purchase Supermelodic Pulp over on Bandcamp.
