If I write and produce an indie film someday, this song is guaranteed to be on the soundtrack. It's the perfect score for a seasonal montage, as the seasons shift from light to dark, from summer to winter. It's another single by Alec Grefe, known as Astronaut Husband, who keeps relentlessly producing new music from his bedroom in Wisconsin.
"Changeless" is aptly named to contrast with the nostalgia and loss that he sings of, and the sense of inevitable change that it invokes. It's soft and mellow like Elliott Smith, builds and builds like an S. Carey tune, and hits you in the emotionally poignant way that Sufjan Stevens' work does.
Stay tuned for an entire new album to accompany it by the end of the year.
