I am currently recovering from a shoulder reconstruction, which has left me without the use of my dominant right arm. Given I'm typing this entire review with my left hand, I'm sure you get the idea of how much I rate the newest release from Melbourne producer Asdasfr Bawd (pronounced az-das-ah-fah bow-d).
The project of classically trained pianist/percussionist Alex Clayton, this latest musical offering comes in the form of a brilliant two-track, with lead single "Nobody" the focus here today. Clayton's musical training will come as no surprise after a couple of listens to this track, especially given the percussive prowess he exhibits. The way he builds using loops and spacing is second to none, and results in a release which speaks of an artist with huge potential. Make sure to check out the two-track's other release "Love," an equally impressive number.
Aside from working on his live show, Asdasfr Bawd is putting the finishing touches on his debut EP, due out via Solitaire later this year. We'll be listening...
