Why do we like this?
"Zombie" is the sprawling, ear-catching first act of Armadillo, a new duo formed by producer Caleb Stone and guitarist Justin Tolan.
The instrumental feels mildly inspired by the free-flowing, experimental style of BBNG. I can't tell if the tune's melancholic, hazy progression is making me feel happy or sad; it's probably both.
I wouldn't call it post-rock. I also wouldn't call it hip-hop. Instead Armadillo find themselves chilling somewhere between genres, making their own rules as they go, which is badass.
