East London's newest pop artist is Arlo, who has already written records with Diplo and has stints at Goldsmith University as well as Harlem. Some of you may be familiar with with his acclaimed jam "Ivory." He's back with the defiant "Shake the Room," which is about losing confidence in one's self... and the internal battle that evokes.
"The only beautiful thing is the thought of getting out," he nearly-whispers before the powerful, assertive chorus. My friends, this is the kind of chorus that should be a soundtrack to a sports team montage before the big game. It's that kind of song.
The song's got savvy percussion, but the real highlight are Arlo's impressive, emotive vocals. There's a lot of influence behind the artist's range as a singer and performer -- a unique blend.
