Brisbane producer Argentina (real name Alex Ritchie) has had a slow rise, releasing his first single to rave reviews in 2011, having a break-out year supporting the likes of Neon Indian, The Maccabees, and San Cisco, and dropping back under the radar pretty soon afterwards. He's now back, completely out of the blue, with his debut (comeback?) album,
Under Pressure, Over Time.
"Bad Kids," the standout track of the album, showcases Ritchie's style perfectly, featuring thumping drums, catchy synth hooks, and a beautiful melody that brings his energetic falsetto and unique Aussie drawl to the forefront.
According to his website, Argentina will be announcing a set of shows along the Australian East Coast very soon; make sure you catch him live before he blows up again.
