Arcade Fire can be described as the paternal alt-rock band. For most people, Arcade Fire marks their first endeavor into alt-rock, and what a place to start — the band has created some beauties! "Reflektor," "Everything Now," and "The Sprawl" to mention a few. With "The Lighting" (a two-parter of Lightning I and II) justifying, again, why Arcade Fire is such a staple in the alt-rock space.
It's a progressive and growing anthem filled with a combo of strong piano, a charging guitar, and drums — the drums are so overwhelmingly good. The lead vocals take us on an adventure through every second of an uplifting and honestly touching cathartic rumble.
