Not too long ago I wrote an article about
five sophomore albums that had let me down, including Arcade Fire's
Neon Bible. Naturally, a number of folks got fired up, many of whom pointed toward "No Cars Go" as an awesome track off the album.
Awesome indeed, I admitted. But did you know that the song was actually released on the bands 2003 EP
Arcade Fire, well before their debut album
Funerals? Indeed, the inclusion of "No Cars Go" on
Neon Bible was a repeat. Arguably, the fact that they had to rehash material demonstrates that they were feeling the sophomore slump, but I won't go into that...
Bottom line is that I agree: this song is really, really good.
