Why do we like this?

I was checking out a song on SoundCloud when, lo-and-behold, SoundCloud's "up next" algorithm actually managed to hit on a good song that I hadn't heard.

Appleby's "Lady Sunshine" reminds me a whole lot of Raury, with a beautifully soulful folk approach that manages to come off as unique in a genre saturated by decades of talent.
