I should have shouted out this song when I first got it, but life got the better of me, and staying-in-the-moment kept me busy.
"Summer Never Ends" is the jam of the summer. In fact, this could be the jam for any summer.
It's retro 80's style vocals draw on the more epic tunes of that era. The production leans of folk acoustics to lure you in with the sounds of waves crashing and birds chirping. It draws you into some of the most serene details of a lush summer, and then smacks you in the face with some of the best vocals I've heard since the 80's.
It's weird that this song got labeled (when I received it) with Tove Lo, Ellie Goulding and Haim. I mean, I hear the similarities in some of the notes, but these girls here are in a class of their own.
The vocal performance on this summer hit are powerful. From the lyrics to the belting out of notes and vocal production. Everything, even in the mix, is perfect. This is probably the most powerful set of vocals heard all year, so far, and I put them up and over any vocals from those three acts mentioned above, any day.
