Sweden continues to deliver the goods with Anna Leone seeming to be the next big thing from the Nordic region.
The 23-year-old self-taught guitarist writes heartfelt songs about the highs and lows of relationships, detailing the pains that come with growing up in the modern world. "If You Only" is the latest single from the self-confessed introvert.
A simple yet effective guitar riff combines with soaring synths and probing percussion as Leone's soulful vocals commands your attention. "If You Only" is another fantastic release from Leone and follows on from the previously released "My Soul I" and "I Never Really."
All three songs can be found on her debut EP, Wandered Away, a beautiful collection of folk inspired tracks. On the release Anna explains:
I think the EPs a good reflection of my last few years, even though I never really tried to shape it into something coherent. Not all of the songs were written at the same time but they still manage to exist in the same universe very naturally and have a lot of themes in common. Most of them dealing with finding yourself and your place in the world. Which I've been trying to do for a while. I've also been fortunate enough to work with the same group of people in the studio, which has made the recorded songs feel even more like a specific moment in time
