Anything that starts as odd as this track does and then redeems itself is cool in my books. In fact "Open Relationship" is quite similar to a phenomena we see in nature. That phenomena being childbirth. Sorry, I meant butterflies.
While not the same thing, childbirth and butterflies follow a very similar trajectory towards being cool, so just keep it in mind if you must.
Oh right, this song also follows a similar path to righteousness: starts off a bit uneasy (the not so cool stage), find a bit of a rhythm (this is probably when the caterpillar is in it's cute stage), get all self-conscious (cocooning) and then BANG, a mother fucking butterfly.
See what I mean? Pretty similar to life after being born.
