We all need that upbeat, peppy song that can turn any bad day around. Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness’ “So Close” is the latest tune to do exactly that.
The track will be included on the soon-to-be released Zombies on Broadway. Between the high-pitched vocals, punchy melody, and synthesizer prominence, I can’t help but break into a giant grin every time the song comes on.
According to the band’s blog, the song is “a snapshot of life’s uncertain moments... where every breath and motion is charged with anxiety and hope, fear and fearlessness.” The feeling is clearly conveyed by the uptempo and stimulating rhythm, as it invokes a sense of excitement and confidence.
Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, led by singer, songwriter and pianist Andrew McMahon (and former Jack’s Mannequin lyricist), will be going on a major tour to support the album, so check out the dates and see if he is coming to a city near you.
