Although he's been releasing music for years, until a few months ago you'd be forgiven for not knowing the name Anderson .Paak. That's all changed now, and for good reason too.
The California-based artist sprung to global attention this year after featuring on not one, not two, but SIX tracks on Dr Dre's long-awaited 2015 album Compton, and momentum has been building ever since. This year alone he's also featured on tracks with The Game, Med, Blu & Madlib, GoldLink and more. Last weekend, Dre premiered a new .Paak track on his Beats 1 radio show, and today comes the release of "Am I Wrong" featuring rapper Schoolboy Q and production from Pomo.
This single shows off a really different side to what we've heard from .Paak recently - the upbeat rhythm and colorful soundscape shows us how well .Paak's unique, immediately distinctive voice slips from aggressive gangsta rap to disco/soul-infused R&B, and everything in between. I'm really looking forward to hearing more from the rising star.
