Why do we like this?

A few weeks back I featured "Hold On," the debut single from newcomer Ames. Today I'm excited to share her second single, "Picture In My Mind."

Detailing the effects of seeing your ex living their best life on social media, "Picture In My Mind" is a surprisingly buoyant pop number with a dazzling piano line that reminds me of Bruce Hornsby's "The Way It Is."

The synth pop wonder is another great release from the experienced songwriter, with Ames having this to say about the track:

'Picture In My Mind' is a song about heartbreak and how social media can play an unhealthy role in that heartbreak... forever reminding us of the other person and showing us things we were never meant to see.

In celebration of the track Ames has released a Halloween inspired live version you can view here.
