When two electronic legends, The Knocks and Skylar Spence, combine their shared love of samples, soul, and NYC into one project, the result is Amelia Airhorn: a collaborative supergroup that has debuted with a 57-minute mix and ode to 90's New York nightlife.
"Amelia Airhorn is what it sounds like to want to be lost in a party and never be found again” the group told Billboard. They exaggerate these themes on the project’s accompanying website, and through the experience of the mix in full, which is constantly shape-shifting between interludes as though you are following Amelia on a night through the city.
"Hard 2 Get" brings an energetic high to the first half of the tape, putting nu-disco sounds a vibrant vocal sample that’s so catchy I spent an hour trying to find its source (to no avail).
Seriously though, if anyone knows where this sample is from, hit me up. Enjoy.
