There's a lot to like on the new AlunaGeorge album, and we've definitely covered a good portion of it here on the Shuffle. Now that the album is available for full stream, there's even more material to ogle over, thus, let the AlunaGeorge spillover begin.
One of my favorites off Body Talk (available July 30) is "Friends to Lovers." Aluna's innocent tone betrays her honest vocals that seem to say, "Hey, we've got this electric connection as friends that might end in a cosmic explosion if we explored it as lovers, but damn kid, you really make me feel something powerful." Aluna's final summation is that her doubts kind of answer her own question, and thus wouldn't it be so much easier on the heart to be brother and sister.
It's a very dynamic track, albeit being one of the most minimal on the album, but then there's all the more room to read between the lines. Speaking of which... is anyone else wondering if this track is about George?
