While down in Melbourne over the weekend, I was happy to come across Alta playing a small show in town. I was familiar with the duo (I covered Friendships' remix of their single "Stepping Out" late last year), but I had not given them enough attention to date. After seeing them in the flesh, they're definitely not an act I'll be underestimating in the future!
As luck would have it, I'm able to immediately redeem myself, as the guys have just released brand new single "Wash It Down." They're much more than just another Melbourne electronic act; they possess a style that is truly their own. The sharp, hip-hop influenced production flows smoothly in tandem with Hannah Lesser's dynamic, slightly left-of-center vocals, with clever sampling giving this track an even more quirky vibe.
