Melbourne-based electronic duo Alta has been making a name for themselves in the local scene for a couple years now. The pair have recently signed to Caroline Australia, and they've released new single "Hold Your Fire" to celebrate!
This is the kind of track filled with subtleties and hidden gems. There's a lot happening between each layer, and it's really nice to pick up on those little synth flickers, vocal licks, and samples around the beat and melody.
The overall tone is subdued and a little mysterious, but the beat and layers move and flow, creating an ever-changing landscape of soul-infused electronic. It's quite hard to pinpoint or properly describe this track as a whole, but it all comes together to create something really intriguing and certainly unique.
A superb new track from the Melbourne musos, I can guarantee that this will be an act to watch in 2015.
