Why do we like this?

2024 update: It's been a loooong time since we first published this post, but I recently dusted off Alt-J's 2012 album An Awesome Waveand boy is it good! Thought I'd bring this back up as a reminder :)

It actually blows my mind how good Alt-J is. The British foursome burst onto the scene about a month ago, with a sound not unlike Wild Beasts. Still, there's something with a bit more edge here that has been driving the music blogosphere crazy, myself included.
