Alt-J Hunger Of The Pine (Vaults Cover)

I suppose you could say it was inevitable that we'd start to see covers and remixes of Alt-J's new material come out. Today marks the first track to cross my desk -- in this case a cover of "Hunger Of The Pine."

Vaults have done a pretty good job capturing the dark ambiance of the track. Perhaps too good a job. From what I've heard people say, the original version of this track wasn't exactly a favorite, likely owing to its slowed-down pace.

This cover sees Vaults take the already-slow song down a notch, which I have a feeling will turn off a number of listeners. Fortunately for the band, I'm not one of those listeners. In fact, I'm quite enjoying it.
