Why do we like this?

"Remembering When" is the first tune from Pete Cochrane's new band Alpha Celeste.

Cochrane, Mystery Jets' bassist, is now on vocal duties as well as bass. He formed the band with Miles James (guitar) and Graham Godfrey, who Cochrane met while the two were on tour playing with Michael Kiwanuka.

As expected, the influence of Cochrane's first band can be heard in Alpha Celeste's guitar fueled pop, but there are touches of the hazy, lo-fi vibes of Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Mac Demarco throughout.

Two thumbs up for this one.
