Why do we like this?
Allysha Joy is the lead singer of Melbourne Soul Collective 30/70, but also a songwriter and producer of note for her solo project.
I came across her gorgeous double single on SoundCloud a couple of months back, but most particularly latched onto "FNFL." What really strikes me is the message in her work, with 'FNFL / Akala' "expressing her heartfelt desire for political change within Australia."
An exploration of jazz, soul and hip hop, her music represents a fresh new sound coming only from Melbourne, largely made popular by future soul powerhouse Hiatus Kaiyote.
Keep up to date with Allysha on Facebook and SoundCloud, as she spends some time around Europe playing shows.
