Why do we like this?
Launching in late 2011, Melbourne band All the Colours have developed a sound which they describe as "progressive vintage." Whatever it is, it's tasty. Headed up by Miami Horror's Josh Moriarty, they released their debut single "Love Like This" last year (make sure to check it out here) and have just dropped a second track.
"Second to None" is slightly off-key in its tone and lyrics, but don't let that perturb you -- it's stupidly addictive. The rhythm section sets the tone for this one, with Moriarty's inviting, falsetto vocals quick to make their mark. It's the sort of song that you cant help but groove to, no matter your tendencies towards a good shimmy.
This single will be featured on the band's debut album, due for release in the coming months. While you're here, check out the progressively vintage video clip which accompanies the release.
