Why do we like this?

Story has it that Ali Awan was strumming away on his guitar one day when he happened to land upon a lick he quite liked.

He wanted to turn it into a song, but lacked a bit of direction.

Enter Nina Simone. She visited him in a dream and said "Ali, draw inspiration from my song Sinnerman."

Ali was surprised to have been visited by none other than Nina Simone, but he obliged. And the result was this very song "Moon Mode."

So basically we have Nina Simone to thank for this song. Thanks, Nina.

Ali's gearing up to release a new EP (also titled Moon Mode) via Born Losers Records in June. Keep an ear out!
