As part of influential Sydney electronic trio Seekae (who we've featured on a Sunday Night Chill playlist), Alex Cameron has been celebrated both locally and internationally. The band's percussionist, Cameron, has also branched off on his own, recently debuting his live show. After releasing "Gone South" (you can check out the clip below) earlier this year, he's just offered up his first official single.
"She's Mine" sees Cameron take a another step away from Seekae's beat-orientated electro -- the David Bowie references will be quickly noted given the seductive vocals and the synthy 80s vibe of the track. Most importantly, the track's production is spot on, with the somewhat minimalist arrangement ably supporting Cameron's strong voice and poignant lyricism.
I love a good side project, and this is an excellent one. Luckily, Cameron's got a whole album ready to unleash on us in the coming months; I can't wait!
