Why do we like this?
Short and sweet, "In The Zone" will take you there (to the zone), but is definitely a bit of a tease. Guest vocalist Erika Spring sounds a bit like Janet Jackson (I think?), and I mean that in only a good way. This track is begging to be mixed into something longer, and I'm sure it will be picked up real quick.
Airbird (who is really Joel Ford of Ford & Lopatin fame) I have loved for a while (particularly the track "Girl"), L.A.'s Napolian is new to me -- but, together, their hybridized sound is definitely more than the sum of its parts. The track notes promise a full length "on track for winter" so we'll just have to sit tight for now. Or like, chill in the zone.
(Don't call it seapunk. Unless you look at the album art. Then you can call it seapunk, maybe.)
