Throughout the year we've watched the tropical disco genre flourish, with many artists coming forward and producing awesome dance floor-ready tracks. Today is no different, thanks to NY-based DJ Air Zaïre.
This single, titled "Play," blends together R&B, deep house, nu disco and recalls the chorus loops from Jennifer Lopez's 2001 hit also titled "Play" (coincidence?). The Balearic essence of the song adds a pleasing smoothness that can be somewhat overwrought in previous songs of this nature. It allows an escape from the heavily-produced tracks that clutter our earphones and brings us back to a chill place where we can just remove ourselves from the chaos of life, if only for a couple of minutes.
From what I have heard so far, there's no denying that Air Zaïre has the workings of a talented DJ, so if you're feeling "Play," go ahead and check out some of his other work
